Minutes of the Cit Council of Laurel ~I Y November 18, 1969 { A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Montana,' way held in the Counc3~1 Chambers and was called to order by Mayor Kenneth E. Olson at 7;30 o'clock P.M,~ on Tu~~day~ November 18' 1969. Upon taking roll call the following aldermen answered presents ~ Roy Horning Jackson Parlor Lyle Jones E. H. EbErsvill~r~ Sr. John Be~lanwiteh Lour Yovetieh Minutes of the previous melting of November lath were read. J3.m Huff ~ desired that the minutes stating that he said ?~the rates should be changed so that everyone paid the same amotant~t be changed to read «that everyone pay according ~i to the services r~ncZered~}. Motion was made by Beslanwitch and seconded by Parlor that the minutes b~ approved with this correction. Motion carried. I A thank you note from Marlene & Gary l~faff was read. A note of appreciation was r~a.d from Mrs. C.W. Laird. I A Letter from N~r~. Amnia Wombolt stating that she lost 300 lbs. of potatoes and a box of soap way rEad. Motion was made by ~bersviller end seconded ~ by Beslanwitch that this matter be turned over to the insurance Company. Motion carried... k Y, A letter from Paul ~i'o1d was read asl~ing to have the garbage taac for k th.~ Farmers Discount Market deleted from his taxes since he does not own the ~ property. This matter referred ~o the Street and Alley Committee. Mayor announced that the Library is having a National Childr~ns book wP~k from November 16th through the 22nd and everyone is invited to visit the Library during this week. Mr. Woll~.n stated that he believes if tickets are liven to both the pedestrians day walking and the drivers that this would helpe I~orn3. re ortecl that the Police c ng p ommlttee met and recommended -ghat the ~ request for ~.?~no parking1t sign in front of the theatre be denied. Motion was made by Jackson Parker & seconded by Leslanwitch that the police committee r~por~ be aec~pted. ~a Jacks an Parker stated that he thought th.e slow sign should be put up again a.t the Fred Graff School. Horning to tell the Fred Graff School. Jim S~uthworth appeared before the council to ask that the council go on record as opposing the M.D.U. rate increase. Motion was made by Yovetieh and ~ seconded by ~bersviller that the council go on record as opposing the M.D.U. increase. Motion carried. City Clerk to write to Paul Smithy Public S~rvic Comrni_~sion Chairman. k Jim Huff appeared before the council to again request the information nn the Owl C'a.f~ and Thriftway Cxarbage Taxes. Jones r~port~d that the street and alley committee mgt to go over the garbage rates end h~ stated that they were very complicated and would take rnueh mire stud~rin~. Jones reported that h~ h.ad written to three other towns about ~iLe ~a.tue ~1'z,~ ~5 LdUZ'el ~3,1?Q'.,.T1 EVeT'~ ]_riStSI?CE' the other 'tOWTiS were paying more. After much discussion nn thy; Garbage Taxas, Besla.nwitch ~~ated that h.e would. Zook r up the taxes for the ()wl Cafe and Thriftways for Jim Huff. ~;bersv~_ller reported that the street sign on Laur~mac Lane is ~ti11 m~ssin Yovetich stated tha-~ it was put up ones but is gone again. Yoveti~h reported that the water ling at the river ha.s been installed again end hopes it will stay this time. Yovetich reported that Laurel is going to loose their sale off' licence plates next year. Ne stated that the county is contimplating moving the saps to the fa~xgrounds.
