Minutes of the Cit council of Laurel Y

A regular meeting of the pity Council of the City of laurel,
Montana, was held in the ~duneil chambers, and was called to order bar Mayor K~nn~th Olson, at 7:30 o~clock, P.M., on Tuesday, September 2~

Roy Horning Jackson F. Parker Lyle E. Jones E. H. Eb~rsvill~r, Sr. Walter Parker
The minutes of the previou,~ regular meeting were read. Motion
way made by Walter Parlor end seconded by Jones that the minutes be approved
as read. Motion carried.
Minutes of the Special me~tin~ of August 26th were read. Motion was
made by Eb~r~viller and seconded by Walt Parker that the minutes be approved '
as read. Motion carried.
Minutes of ~h~ 2nd special meeting of August 26th were react. Mot3.Qn
was made by Ebersviller ~.nd second~ci by Jones that the minutes be approved as read. Motion carried.
County Sanitarian~s report, reports of the patrolmen, and report
of the Police Jude were pr~sen~ed for approval. Motion was made by Lbersviller

this resolution be declared passed and adopted and a certified copy made of ~
the carne. Motion earri~d.
Jackson Parker reported th~.t the applic~.tion far a Federal Grant in
connection with an ambulance s~rvica for the City of Laurel end vicinity way
ready for signature. He reported the total project pudget of X21,350.00 of which the Federal Grant would be X12,000.00 or 56~, with the City of Laurel
p3eking up the balance.
J. Parker also reported that he hid had two complaints regarding the
NDU failure to restore streets and alleys after work was done. Walter Parlor
reported that in Helena Contractors had to put up a ~3,0~0.0~ bond, and the City had ~,n ordinane~ requiring that the streets and alleys be restored in the same
condition as before the construction. He recommended that an Ordinane~ be typed
up tc~ this effect and pre5ent~d to the City Council for approval and passage at
the next meeting. ~

Jackson Parker reported on a meeting of the committee composed of Yovetieh~ ~ber~v3.ller~ City Engineer, City Attorney and him~~lf ~rhb mgt with
the Women+s Club in conn~etion with their requested Street Light project. He ~
stated that it was they general opinion that this praject should cover the entire
city rath€;r than 238 unit~~ and that it be plac~cl on the ballot ~.t the next
regular city ~leetion which will be in 1971. No Special election was considered
because of the iner~ased cost. Jackson Parker also recomm~nd~:d that this matter remain in the hands of the present committee for further study and
recc3mmend~tion. Aft~:r d se~~sion~ motion way made by Walter Parker and seconded

Ebersviller etat~d that in his opinion the inject spraying was much i I more effective khan any of tl-~e previous sprayings.
Eb~:rsviller r~por~ed that the street sign on Laurmae T,ane has been
stolen and should be replaced. He also stated that the ~i.ty engineer had
promised to install a firs plug an Zaurmac Lane last fa11 and it has not yet
begin done. This to be referred to the City Engineer when he returns. III t
Walter Parker reported on a-stop sign on )nth and first. H~ stated
that trees and shrubs obscure the stop gi n, and it is easy to miss it.
~'hief off' Police Gaston also reported another bad pla ce at the four ~aay
stop sign at bth and T~dyoming. Both these complaints to be referred to the j
City F~igineer to write letters staffing that these trees and bush~.s must come ~
out or be trimmed back. ~
Mr. & Mrs. ~nTatt~ appeared before the council again. Mrs. Watts a bed
how long it could be before a foundation mu.~t be placed under a mobile homy.
Walt Parker stated that ~h~ foundation should be build first before the home
is p1~c~d on it. i~ity Clerk stated that building permits were i~su~d for six ~ months. Mr. TnTatts still wants an alley'. Walter Parker reported he would get
in touch with on of the City crew to try and get this fob done in the morning. I
City Clerk to cantaet Dick Metzger on this project.
Where being no farther business to come before they council at this
session, mcation was duly made and seeondc~d that the meting be ad~ovrned. Motion carried.
