A r~~ular m~etin~ of the City Council of the City of Laurel, Mont.
was held in the Council Chambers, and was galled t9 order by City Clerk i Dorothy P. Bundy, in the ab~-enee of the Mayor and the Pre~id~nt of ~h~
Council, at 7x30 c~'elock, P.M., on Tuesday, August 5, 1969.
Upon taking roll call, the following aldermen answered present:

Motion was m~.de by Ebersviller and seconded b;~ Walt Parker that the minutes
b~ approved as read. Motion carried.
The minutes of the previous regular meting of July lath wire read.
Motion was made b~ Eber~viller and s~cond~d bar Jones that the minute b~ ap-
proved a~ re~.d. Motion.carried.
Thy ~inute~ of the previous Special meting o~ July 2~.~h were read.
Motion was made by Jackson Parker end seconded by Wa1~ Parker that the minutes b~ approved ar ~~ad. Motion carried.

Motion was made by B~~lanwitot~ and conded by Walt Parlor that the minutes
be approved a~ read. Motion carried.
The Mayor had requested that the City Eri~in~er b~ allowed to draw up Specifications on the duly budgeted roof repair, ~o that it could be
completed po;~~ibl~ before the cold weather. Motion way made bar J~ekcon Parlor
and ~~conded by E ersviller that thifi rcqu~st be granted and the City Engineer
authorized to draw up the specifications. Motion carried.
Certain renortg of the City of Laurel, Montanan wire presented for approval a~ follows: Cl~rk~G catch Report, Libr~.ry Report, r~port~ of the
Police Jude, and reports of the patrolmen. Motion was made by Walt, Parker
and seconded by Eber~viller th~.t the;~e reports b~ approved. Motion caxried.

Park Committee. Stauding~r alto reported about the condition of the stands.
This brought ~tir~h a di~~ucsion and it way generally con;ridered that this should
b~ a community pro~~ct. ~taudinger off~r~d~' to help.
Jaek=on Parker reported ;several complaints as to garbage service ~inee the burning; has been discontinued. The aldermen from the other wards also had
complaints on this ~ubjeet. Daley reported on this.
After di~cu;~fiion, motion was made by Becl~nwitch and ;seconded by Jones
that an open tuck be ;~~nt around the city the first week each month from Maur r
lst.through November lit. Motion carried.

Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
Jones reported that the Church basement i~ filled and the weeds
eut at both the Church site and the parGonage.
Jon~~ reported on the burning of weedy that the City has cut. The
fitate Pollution Cornmitte~ has turned down the request to establish a ~pecifie
date £or Gtating that th~r~s wi11 be no burning any~rhere within the County.
Another Air Pollution committee meting is to be held in September. On the weeds already aut, the Council should declare an embrgency to allow the hurnin~
of weeds provided there i~ adequate protection standing by. Work through
the City Engineer. After discuss3on~ motion was made by Jones and seconded
by Walt Paxker that cut dried weds be d~:cl~x~d ac fire hazards end may ba
burned with proper ~upervi~ion, and at the di4eretion of the City Engineer.

Jones requested that a litter be written to the N,~P. telling them that
the gr~,Gs by the closed depot is very dry and that the weeds are tall, and asking
the rail.r•oad to do something about it.

located.
Walt Parlor reported that there wire quits a few street lights out. Montana Power to be informed.
Walt Parlor reported on a meting with the County Commissioners
regarding the Gaxba~e dump. If the City does not get some help financially
and otherwise, Aos~ibly the Cit~r would elos~ the dump to out~;ide u5~rs.
Parker paid that the Commissioners did sound quits ~'avor~,ble. D~2~y suggested
that po~cibl~€ there could be yet hour; at the dwnp. After discu~~ion, mot3.on was made by ~nTalt Parlor and ~econdc~d by~ Jones that the hotar~ of 9.0O o'clock,
A.M. to sun set be desi~nated~ and a gates put up to help enforce this.
Motion carried.
Dale~r repor~~d that the sealing i~ over hal.~ finished, and he felt
that the city crew should b~ commended for doing a good fob.
Jones requested permission to le~,v~ the Mate. Motion war made by
Eb~rsv311er and ~~conded by Horning that permission h~ granted. Motion carried.
