Motion carriEd. ~i ~+1r. Clarke of Gable T. D. apne~red b~?fore the Council to report on a me~tin~ at Spokane. He stated that there wasn't much resolved and that he will return to the Council at some future time when he has more information. City of Laurel mint draw up an ordinance and then Mr. Clarke i~ to be informed. Mr. & Mrs. Cxlen Watts appeared before the Council to inquiry about zoning and ally problems corieerning their proposed trailer court aid la~aridromat. Motion carried. David McCulloch appeared be~or~ the Council with a report on what should be done regarding a storm sewer surve3~. He stated that the pity should apply to H.U.D. for a planning loan. A R~~olution is required which would authorize the Mayor and Cit~r Clerl~ t,o execute any such applic~tions~ City should inquire as to what Federal Grant Funds are available. Motion carried.. The Mayor asked approval of his appointment o~ Ron Hatcher Chairman of the Reerea~ion Board to fill this vacancy. Motion was made by Ebersviller and seconded bar Black that this appointment be approved. Motion carried. City Clerk asked permission to leave the Sta~c~ in the case of an emergency. Motion was made by Jones and seconded by B3ac~ that permission be granted. Motion carried. Jones reported on an a3.r pollution rneetin~ to be held on Wednesday Evening at ? o'eloek~ P.M. Commitment should be rec~iwed from the County Corrammission~rs in order to get Some Federal Funds, to be done ~ie~'ore the first of May. Black stated that most of the people are in favor of stopping thc~ 1 binning. Ebersviller reported on insurance policies and recommended incres~ing ~ the coverage by 8~. Ebersviller made this r~:commendation in the dorm of a motion, seconded by Jones. Ebersvill~r 13 to talk to tl~e bank official regarding their agreement to split the premium on this particular insurance with Merritt Williams, or that the Aldermen will give this 3n~urance to Merritt, f'or the next fine year period. r------,T- ~ i , - ~ _---------~_rT - i I II i I i, Minutes of the City Council of Laurel Eb~r~viller reported that the City carries an accident policy for the Auxiliary Police at a cost of $2.Q0 per member per year. After discu~~ion during which time he mentioned three different eovera~es possibles motion was made by Yovetich and seconded by Black that the City adopt a policy for the Auxiliary Polio that pars $50.00 per week, $1 000.00 medical and $~,~OO.~fl ~~ath benefit. Motion carried. The eommitt~±e investigating the request of thy; Police 3udge for a raises reported that the Judge h~.d asked for $50.00 ~.dditional per month. Motion way made bar Ebersviller and ~eeonded by Bla.ek that this raise be given in the amount of $35•fl0 per month, to b~ effective May Z, 19b9. Motion carried. Eber~vill~r reported that the Jolly Neighbors had donated $160.00 for a curtain f'or the big window in the Library. This group is also intending to purchase six books ~'or the Library. Motion was duly made a.nd ~~~anded that lofts. Burd~tte Adams should be written a letter ~pf thank you. this group, ~ s Motion carried. Ebersviller reported on the depot. He stated that a railroad officia]. has su~~;ested $150.Of3 per month. (hit policeman on dut~r wou7.d then open the depot before each of the two trains and lock up the depot after the train had gone on. It was the opinion that Ebersviller should suggest $300. 0 per month for this ~ervi.ce. There being no further business to comp before the Council at this session, motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting b~ adjourned.
