Upon takiMg roll call, the following Aldermen answered present: j s Walter Parker Richard Black Louis Yovetich Rohr Horning E. H. Ebersviller, Sr. James South~ror~h Lyles Jones The ~inut~s of the previous meeting were read. Motion was made by Horning and seconded by Black that the minutes be approved as read. Motion carded. J d e wa$ resented. Motion was made by Black Report of the Police u g and s~cond~d by Jones that this report be accepted. Motion carried. Other reports of the City of Laurel were pr~~ented a~ follows City Clerk's Cash Report, Clerk's Tri~.l Balance, City Treasurer's Financial Report. Motion was made by Black and seconded by Eber~vill~r that these reports be accepted. Motion carried. 4 Letter from proposed radio station K R A D was read. This letter of t,estimonia]. from the Mayor anc~ City Council. After + requested l~tter~ j, discussion, motion was made by Southworth and seconded by Black that the ~ requested letter be written. Motion carried. Letter was read from Senator C. Thie~Sen. Sanitarian' report was presented ~,nd read. Motion was made by sI Ebersviller and seconded by Parker that this report be approved. Motion I carried. d e Walter Menello, was read requesting an ?,ether from Police Jug , increase in salary far the coming two-gear term. After discussion, the µ Mayor turned this matter over to the Police and Finance Committees to work with the City Attorney. The Mayor reported on the doh quarantine. He paid that twelve do s wire picked up and three of these were claimed, the other nine were ~ disposed o£. After much discussion motion way made by Horning and ~~eonded ~ by ~.~'bersvill~r that the Cit~r Council put the question of a dog leash law ' up to the people in the corning election. Motion carried with Yovetich and 1 Southworth voting "no's. Matter was turned over to the City Clerk, City i' Attorney and Horning to get the proper wor~.ing on the ballot. Depot open during times i Regarding the matter Qf keeping the N.P. of the arrival of trains, Ebersviller reported that the N,P. would expect a policeman to unlock the door and stay them; and lock up after the train had left the station. I'il Black stated that he would like to su~;ge5t that the residents of the City of Laurel case to burn trash, etcetera, during the month of April a~ a pilot program. This is a trial to ascertain how much extra help, space, time, ~.nd so forth that would b~ required to pick ~p all trash that i~ usually burned. He asked that the residents please co-operate ~'c~r this short period. Yovetich asked that the question of a carport requested by C.~. Laird be r~-considered by the Zoning Board. The Mayor stated that h~ would ask J. J. Parker to fill the vacancy on this Board. The Council agreed to this re-consideration ~.nd the Mayor a~l~~d that the first ward Aldermen work with the Zoning Board on this question. There being no further business to come before the Council at thus time, motion way duly made and seconded that the meeting b~ adjourned. Motion c~.rried. After the meting the Mayor stated that he dad neglected to con~,ratualat~ the ~ri.nnin~ Laurel Loeomotive~ on their triumph at the State Tournam~,nt as well as the entire season.
