S3Q o'el~ek' P.M., on Tuesda~r, Marsh l~, 1969. Upon taping ro11 call the f ollcr~ri.ng Aldermen answered present a Walter Parker Richard Black Louis Yovetich Roy Horning E. H. Ebersiller, Sr. -Jim Southworth Lyle Jones j Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion was made by Eber~viller and seconded by P~.rker that the minutes be approv~;d a~ read. ~~I Motion carried. i Health Officer's report was presented. Motion was made by Ebersv ller and seconded b~ Black that the report be approved. Motion carried. 1 ORDINANCE N0. 586 BEING AN ~R.DINANCE ESTABLISHING SETTTAtG THE SALARY FOR THE MAYOR AND ALDERMEN OF' THE CT`I'Y OF LAUREL, was presented. ~ After discussion, Ebersviller made the motion that the ordinance be approved with the change of the Mayor~~ salary from $180.00 to $20 .00 per months effective the lit day of May, 1969. Southworth seconded. Upon taking a roll call vote all Ald~rzr?en present answered 'TAye" and Ordinance No. 586 was declared ' passed and adopted. Motion carried. t RES~LUTT~N N0. 1356 BEING A R~SC3LUTION-ACCEPTING, ADOPTING, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIO~i OF AID AGREII~IENT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF YELLOWSTONE, THE CITY OF LAUREL AND THE CSTY OF BSZLYNGS, MONTANA, FOR THE CREATION OF A CITY-GOUI~`P~C AzR POLLUTSON CONTROL BOARD, was pr~~ented. Motion was made by Ebersviller a,~d seconded by Black that Resolution No. 1 56 be adopted. Motion carried.. RESOLiTPION N0. 1357 RE50LIl~ION N0. 1357, BEINQ A RESOLUTTOI~ SETTING UP AND DESCRIBING ADDITIONAL DUTIES ~'OR THE CITY TREASURE,, AND THE COMPE~tSATI~N THEA.EFOR: way presented. Motion way made by Ebersviller and seconded by Jones that Resolution No. 1357 be adopted. Motion e2~rried. A letter was read from S. A. Anderson, Superintendent off' the N.P. Railway Co. about the opening of the depot for passengers during train time. Mr. Anderson stated that they hid not reached a de;ci~ion but were eon~idering the matter. Motion was made bar Ebersvill~r that the matter be pursued further bar more letters to Mr. Anderson. Southworth ~~conded and the motion carried. A letter way read £rc~m Clark Cottrell, Chief of the Real. Estate Branch of the A.e~ional Office of the Post Office Department concerning the flooding problem in front of the Post Office. It was also suggested that apply for a grant from Ht1D for a professional survey of the grater problem. Police reports were pr~;5ented. Motion was made by Horning and seconded by Ebersviller that the reports b~: approved.. Motion Qarri~d. Thy Mayor reported that a club would like to have square dance f at Riverside Hall but did not want to have to pay for two policemen. McI:~an Clark of Big Timer requesting meeting ~.~h the Council to discuss cable television in Laurel. The Mayor stated he would contact Mr. C1.ark and call a meeting of the Council for March 11, 1969, ~t 7s3~ o'clock, P.M. The Mayor r~port~d that the CCD had ~~t up a committee to make a study of the libraries in this county and he had appointed Walter Hall to the comYr?ittee to represent Laurel. Horning sugge5t~d the City should have a dog worden all-gear round. T~~ Pol3.ce Committee wi11 study the matter. Eber~viller seconded and the motion carri~:d. There eras di~cu$sion about the North School building. Tt Baas mentioned that the C3.ty could pdssibl~ own ~hi.s property. 'the Mayor appointed 'I', B1ack~ Yove~ieh and Southworth to study the matter. Parlor stated that cars downtown are being over-parked in a~ ~ hour park3.ng zone. It was tYae opinion of the Council that all gars violating s should be ~iv~n a ticket immediately. There w~.s discussion about trailers within the City Limits. {I'i Yovetich made the motion and Ebersvill~±r s~eond~d that the Council ~~,I write a letter of commendation ~o Coach Paterson and the Locomotives for } their fine performance on the basketball floor.
