Upon taking poll call the following A1d~arraen an~w~r~;d present Gerald ~a~~ W'~l.~er Parker 8ichard Black T~c~ui.a Yov~tiah Rohr Horning E. H. Ebersviller, Sr, Jim Southwor~h Lyle Jones Minu~e~ of the previous meting were read. Motion way made by Black { and ~~conded by 5out~iworth that the minutes be approved. Motion carried. i Glerk's Trial Balance, Cash Report, and Trea~ur~r's Report ~r~r~ presented. Motion way made bar Black and ~~~onded by Eb~rseiller th~.t the 1 reports be approved. Motion carried. Titter esf resignation from Lyle Jones reigning from the I,at~rel Rearea~i.on Co~nittee way read. Motion way made bg Black and seconded by Gass that hip r~~ignation be aac~pted. Motion carried. ~ CoTanty Sanitarian' ~ report ~ra~ read. Motion way made bar Black and €~e~onded by Parker that the repar~ be approved. Motion carried. A l~~,ter was read from Stake R~pr~sent~tive Harrison Fagg and 2 j letters were read from 'Mayor dames 5h~a from Walkerviile concera~ing Howe Bill ~.6~, City-County Consolidation. Yove~ti~h made ~h~ motion that if Howe Bill 1~6tJ passes the Senate and becomes law, and Ies~ there is a c1au~~ in this bill ghat Laurel will get legislative representation from the Laurel pe4pl~, that we petition for a new County. He stated that ~8~ of the vote of the people, in this area would b~ needed to form a new County. Southwort~i s~eonded the notion. After much discussion, a roll call vote was ~akez~ with. Gasp voting ~NNo°t3 Parker "loo"; Bladk ~Ze~'~; Yoveti~h "Yes"; Horning etY~~'~; Eb~rsvi.ller "Yep"; ~outhworth "Yep"; Jones "Yes'; motion carried. Dr. Schoenthal addressed the Council with an amendment to tope Air Pollution Fro~;ra~ Agreement. He stated that ~h~ Gounty Commissioners had agreed to appointing one member of the board from outside the Cit~r I,imit~ of Billi~g~s and Laurel. He added that as to Billings a~.d Laurel appaintin~ l m~~nber ~o the board, it weuld be the Councils' ~reroga~ine to do ao bar the Mayer with consent y, of the Council or by the Governing Body. Southwarth made the motion and Jones seaond~d that the agreement be accepted with the above change. Motion carried. Tom Bradley is ~o writs a r~solu~ion for the Council'$ approval on thin 'I change in the agreement. Motion was made by Black and seconded by Gasp that the ~Iayor'~ appeintmen~ of Lyle Jones to the Air Pollution Program Board b~ approved. ~ i Motion parried. The Mayor reported that ~Wm. Reinhart had looked at the Grcu~es~ property and had taken pictures to show the County ~o~urd.s~ioner~ and that r Mr. Reinhart will try to have this property changed to private property ~o j it can be sold. or disposed of. ~ The Mayor also reported that Gay Fa~ton, John Dale, E. H. Ebes~~vi.ller, Gerry Gays and h~ would have a m~e~ing with the Bureau of Lind M~nagemsnt about. I' squiring land f or a dry-land dump. There eras discussion about the water on the street.
