Motion was m~.de by ~ Ebersviller and seconded by Gasp that the minutes be apbrov~d as read. Motion was made bar Ebersvill~r and s~cond~d by Jones. that this bid be turned over to the ambulance committee C with authority to act. Motion carried. Letter was read. from the Farmers z7nion Central Exchange as follows 1 Hon~ra.ble Mayor and Councilmen City of Laurel Lauxel, Montana. Gentlemen: For ~ome~time and unofficially we have discussed with various council members ~ the possibility of acquiring control of the .2 of an a.ere laying youth of the Interstate Highway, formarly~Russell propert~r liven to the city to meet park ~ requirements when platting. 1. It is our understanding the Council would consider a re-newable lease ar- ran~emer~t for this pr~berty which would be satisfactory till same means could be devi sed for outright purchase. It is this same reason f we need a, le~.se on the city acrea~~ to further the security we would like to have for our refinery. After discussion, motion way made by Beslanwi~eh and seconded bar Ebersviller that the land be Zea~ed to the j Refinery for $1.00 per .year with renewal prigileaes at the same cost. Bradley to draw up the lease. Motion carried. Piker staffed that the City Engineer should be commended for the stood ,job of street repair done ~inee the last meeting. k Parker reported on the ~mk~~ilanee. Ebergviller asked the City Attorney about fifth avenue on the south r, side op~~~it~ the nursing home. E3radley stated that he had been out of town. C. Ebersviller su~eest~d that the city pay the work-study bobs a bonus for their ~umm~r work. A.ft~r discussion, motion was m~.c3e bar Beslanwiteh and seconded by Jones that this be done. P~lotion cried. k Beslanwiteh s-~ated that the flab should b~ flown over the City Hall every d.ay. It was su~~ested that since the police station is manned around the cloak that this resnonsibilit~r be theirs. Chief of P~lic~ Gaston stated that he would niv~ these instructions. Yovetich reported on the City-County c~ns~li.dation ~ro~ram, and i stated that at the ~rPSent time he was not in favor of this. ~e K Motion was made b~ Yovetich ~.n!~. seconded by Be~lanwitch that the City cyan the ditches. Motion carried. 'I Yovetich brouffht up the sub~j~e~ of a load limit in regard to the beet f trlxeks. The Mayor app~in~ted the 1st and second ward aldermen to this problem. 01son asked about the garbage study. Daley reported on this. j I The Mayor stated t~iat he had made changes in the council committee, ~~I and that a cop~r for each one would. be passed out at the next council meting. ~l I, Thy Mayor reported that he had been receiving camplaints from some senior citizens regarding weds on the struts and sidewalks.
