A regular m~eti.ng o£ the City Council of the City of Laurel, Mont~.na,
eld in the Couneil Chambers and was called to order by Mayor Kenneth E. h was h Olson, at 7:30 o'clock, P.M., on Tuesday, September 1, 1970.
Upon taking ro11 call the following aldermen answered present:

The minutes o£ the ~r~vious meet~_ng were read. Motion was made by
~ EberGviller and seconded bar Jones that the minutes be approved as read. Motion ~
~ carried.
Letter was read regarding a hort~.cultural school in Bozeman for Public Groundskeepers. It was suggested that Frank Smith be asked to attend. ~
Motion made to this effect b~ Ebersvill~r and seconded by Parker. Motion
carried.
Attorne~r for Mr. Marvin Gunter, John Sheehy, appeared before the
council to ask fora 60-d~.y extension for Mr. Gunt~r's building permit. Aft~s d.iscussion~ motion was made bar Ebersviller and seconded by Parlor that a 90-day
extension be allowed to Mr. Gunter. Motion carried.
Certain reports of the-City of Laurel were presented for approval as
follows: Reports of the patrolmen, and reports of the Polies Judge. P~Iotion
was m~.d~ by Eb~rsviller and seconded by Jones that these reports be approved.
Motion carried.

Motion was made by Parker a.nd ~econd~d by Eb~rsviller that these
Cl~imS be allowed, with the exception of a claim from Doni~lle Ayers which
f1 was tuxned over to the recreation bard for approval.. Motion carried.
Ken Ha~~man appeared before the council to ask that a certain person be liven a v~.riance to move on a trailer house on Ha~eman's proberty on Elm.
C He states that he hay not been able to sill it. Ha~eman was told that the
person who wished the variance must apply f'or a building permit first, and go
through re~ulax channels. k'
Mx. & Mrs. Watts appeared before the council to ~.sk that a fire hydrant be in~talle~. ors the corner of Fir and 7th Street. Th3.s matter turned
over to the Cit~r Engineer .for study.
~ Parker reported that the approximate delivery date for the ambulance
wilJ_ b~ (7ctober lst, and stated that the training program was progressing.
~ k'arker reported on attending a m~.etin~ of the zoning; committee.
Jones reported on the ~~rba~e in the a11~ys.
Ebersviller stated that there wire a couple of nesa orchestras
practising until after 10 D.M., and wished to have it stopped, or at leash a
curtailed after 9:0~ P.M. a
G Charley Ro.~ers was welcomed to thy, Couneil to Fill the unexpired 's k term of Walter Parker. Rogers then reported that the cross walks around the school
~ grounds need touc.hin~ up and some of the sums need new face. t'

Daley reported on the zoning and building ordinances. j
Chief of r~olic~ brought up the subject of Wayne Fort as the fifth patrol- man, and stated that he did not want to take the job. It was decided that Rohr
K Horning, chairman of the Polio committee should be contacted before any decision 1
was made.

Them being no further business to comp before the council ~.t this 1 time, motion was du13r made and seconded that the meeting be ad,journ~d. Motion
carried.
