'4r Minutes of the City council of Laurel

A regular meeting of the City Council of the Ci~~r of Laurels
Montana, was held in the Council Chambers and way called to order by Mayor
Kenneth E. ~1~on, at 7:30 c~'cloek P.M., on Tuesday, July 7~ 1970.
~ Upon taking roll call the following aldermen answered present: j
Rohr Horning Jackson Parker Gerald Gays E.H. Ebersvill~r Sr.
John ~3~slanwitch Walt Parker Louie Yavetich
Thy ~a.ux.~i:~Ja~rcees and Jayeeens appeared before the couttcil with ~
donations for the ambulance fund. Mary Jo Kellison~ president of the
F J~.yeeens, presented a eheak in the amount of $255.00 from donations to the
C Little Miss Laurel Contest. Sam Yeager, Chairman of the Haney Bear Saps,
presented a chick for $593.8?. Other donations totaled $375.~a for a complete a
total of $1,23.87
Jackson Parker expressed his sincere appreciation and thanks to the
Laurel Jaycees, the Ja3~ceeng, and to all the people who have participated ~
~xi~.s far in the project. 1
~ The minutes of the previous meeting of Junes 16th wire read. Motion i
was made bar Ebersviller and seconded by Horning that the minutes be approved as 1
~ read. Motion carried. I

Minutes of the special meting of June 23rd were read. Motion was
j made bar Ebersviller a.nd seconded by Beslanwitch that the minutes be approved
as read. Motion carried.

as read. Motion carried.
Reports of the Patrolmen, report of the Police Judge, ar~d the Health ~
~ Officers repor-~ were presented for approval. Motion was made by Walt Parker
and seQOnded by Eb~rsvillsr that these, reports be ~.pproved. Motion carried.

A letter was read from E.F. Carlson, County Commissioner, eonc~rnin~
the sanitary landfill and setting up a meeting date. Daley- to contact Mr.
Carlson to set a date.
4 This being the time and place advertised for the opening of b3.ds for
~ the ambulance, the Clerk w~~ asked to open and read any such bids received.

Motion was made by Walt Parker and seconded by Gass that the bids be referred
to the ambulance ~ommitt~~ for further study w5.th authority to act and report
k a.t the next council meeting. Motion carried. r
Dave Murray ap~e~red before the Qouncil to request that bloe~~ one (1), two (2), and three (3), of the Mountain Vista Subdivision be brought info
k the Citp Limits for the construction of ~.8 rental comnl~xes. These bloek~ I,
would be brought in with tha underst~,ndi.ng that if this building project doesn't r
w meet with the approval of the zoning board and the F.H.A., that h~ could again
take this properly back out of the City Limit. After a lengt~h~ discussion,
motion was made bar Ebersviller and seconded by Be~lanwitch that Blocl~~ ~2ne (1), f Two (2), and Three (3), off' the Mountain Vista Subdivision b~ brought in under
I= an R-1 elassific~tion with the provision that Murray eesu7.d take it back out
if it doesn't meet with the zoning board. Motion carried. In this connection
Re~oli~tion No. 1380 was presented.

I notice of proposal to extend to be published in the La~zrel, Outlook.
Horning stated that the Police Committee would like to advertise far
bids for a new polio car. Motion was made by Be~lanwitch and seconded by
~ Ebersviller that, they be allowed to advertise. Motion carried,

Jackson Parlor reported that a total of $2,219• has been collected
for the ambul~.nce fund.
1 Resl~.nwiteh reported on dogs and stated that the lease law should
be enforced because there were too many doggy running loose, and if neee~sary
hire another man.

~ picked up at the house next to his.
Parker also reported ghat the H,~nor Roll in FirernEn$ Park is a
discrace tc~ the servicemen listed there and should be tat~~n care of. Mayor z
and one aldermen to talk to the V.F.W. and the Legion Club to see what can be
done .bout this.
~al.ey presented a petition for sheet work on Hazel Ave. Motion
wag made by Beslanwitch and secand~d by Ebersviller that this street work b~
k done. Motion carried. 'i

Mayor stated that Ron Hatcher, our Recreation Director, would b~
t resigning as of the 1st of Au~us~.

r conce-ruing the swimming po41. Aldermen to check this. c
~ There being no further business to come before the council at this
session, motion was duly made and seconded that the meeting be ad~ourn~sd.
