A r~.gular meeting of the city Council of the City of Zaurel,
Montana was held in the Council Chambers and was called to order by Mayor s Kenneth E. Qlson, at 7:3Q o'clock, F.M., on Tuesday, May 19, 19?~.
Upon taking roll call the following aldermen ~nsw~red prESent: ~ ~
Roy Horning Jackson Parker Lyle Jones E'~ H. Ebersviller, Sr.

The minutes of the previous meeting o~ May nth were read. J~tek~on
' Parker requested that the minutes reading that Parker asked. the Gity Attorney
for a report regarding the County Co~arnission~rs and the Sa.~itary Landfill" be
changed to read instead 'ka report r~gardin~ the Laurel bayed Ambulance'. Motion
was made by ~bersviller and seconded bar B~~lanwitch that the minutes bey approved 'r as corrected.
~ Certain reports of the Gity of Laurel, Montana were presented for
approval as f ol.low~ : City C1erk~ Cash report„ City Clerks trial balance,
and the City- Treasurers Financial report. Motion was shade by B~slanwit~h
and seconded by Eb~rGviller that these reports be approved. Motion carried.
A letter way read from the City Employees union Zocal #316 regarding
[ the wage portion of their a,~reement. Mayor sated th~.t he way under tl~€:
imprr~ssion that the c~ntraet was for a two year period. The L~.bor negotiations
committee to s#~udy this contract and report at the next council meting.
Mayor introduced the students from Laurel Senior High School wYso f wire participating in Student Government Day.
Mayor stated that Earl ~'forre~J., Civil Defense Director, requested
that the Mayor pr~cla.im the week of May 25 ~hru May ~9 a~ civil defense we~.k.
Horning reported on the noise di~turbanc~? north of town.
Jones asked permissipn to leave the sate. Motion was duly made and
seconded that ermission be granted. Motion carried. P
Jackson Parlor stated that the ambulance ccu~ittee would like to
F recommend that bids be let for the purehas~ of the ambulance. Motion was made ~ by Fbersv3.ller and seconded by Beslanwitch that Paxker advertise for bids.

Daley reported of a .study made bar the garb~.g~ committee on the
Sanitary Landfill. Bradley Mated that the city should writ; a 1ett~r to ~
w the counter commi~sioner~ asking the co~xnty to levy a fax for outside u~~rs
or allow the cit~r to do so. Motion was made by Beslanwitch and ~econd~d by i Jones that the City At~orneq dictate a letter. MQti~n carried.
Ebersviller reported on the tree limbs that were hanging over the
streets and sidewalks. Each alderman to check his ward and report violators
to the engineer.
Bcslanwitch reported on broken sidewalks that constitute a ~~ety
hazaxd. Alder~en to make a ~imilax survey.

Yovetich reported that the pump for the water plant has been ordered. {
Yovetich stated that the drain ditch on 6th Ave. should be cleaned _ , n . ,
because ~.t is cr~atin~; water problems r flr ~cne people on «n ana o~n ave. .~n~.s ±
matter referred to the ~it~r Engineer and First Ward aldermen.
jl Yovetich reported that the Kirkwood estate is an eye-sore ~o the f
city and. something should bs dnne about it. Mayor to get in touch with the a
administrator.
Yovetich stated that he has had complaints about the l~:tter from
the circulars that the merethants send-out. J
Yovetich inquired about what hay been done about the beet dump. Mayor
stated they they have acknowledged our letter and would b~ here to talk to us
sometime in the near future.

~ Daley stated that the filter had been ordered for the pool ~.nd would
arrive around the 17th of June, delaying the pool ~p~nin~ until around the 24th of Jung.
There being no further business ~o come before the council at this i
4 session, motion was dulq made and seconded that the ~e~tin~ be adjourned.
