M. Y'ov~ti~h, at 7.3~ o~clock P.1~.' on Monday, December 2D, 1971. Upon taking ro11 ea11, the following aldermen answered pr~sent~ Tenn Hard Jackson Parker Tom Kilpatrick E. H. Ebersviller, fir. Chuck Rodgers Duane Behm Erv~.n Metzger The minutes of the previous meeting of December 6, 1971, were read. Motion way made by Metzger and secvnd~d by Rodgers that -Ghe minutes be approved as read. 2~otion carried. Sanitation report was presented for ~.pproval. Motion was made by Ebersvill~r and seconded by Parker that this report be approved. Motion carr3.ed. City Clerk would lil€~ permission to leave the Mate. Niot3~on was made b~ I~~lpatriek and seconded by Metzger that permig~ion be granted. A~otion carried. Mayor presented 1~iike S~xbury with a medal and merit from the Boy Scouts of America for (hltstancl~.ng service putting into practice scout sk3.lls i~ and ide~.s. ICI Card way read from Inez Vaughn corNmending the Mayor, Aldermen, and Firemen for the good fob they are do nge Hard reported on meeting of the Cor~ununity Action Program and stated that they would be appointing a new d.r~ctor shortly. Hard repwrted that h~ had a eompla~.zit about the dirt be3.ng dumped in I~, th+~ vacant lot behind Date eve. and the use of city equipment outside the C3.ty 1i~r?it~. After discussion, Mayor stat~:d ghat sine this land is outside the city limits that ~.t was not the concern of the city bud should b~ referred to the County Commissioners. The .street and a11ey cornmitt~e to study the matter of loaning out city equipment. Parker stated that he had several requ~:~ts as to when they would I flood the skating rinks. Referred to Daley to het 3n touch Baith Frank smith. I Parker r~port~d on the progr~s~ of the .Ambul.anae and announced a I, meting with the B1ohm~ on Wed. Dec. 22nd, at 7:3~ F.M. Parker requested that the Mayor, the Personnel Committee, and Frances Fisher attend this meting. Kilpatrick had ND GRIPr_ Two in a Row::: Ebersvill~sr reported that the p~~sonnel committee met and would like to present a proposal to the Polio, Department if it meets with the approval of the council. Thy comm3.tt~es proposal is to offer theme the s€~me hourly rats that they are getting now which is $3.81 per hour for patrolmen and $x.07 per hour for the chief with no overtime pay for hol3.da~rs but compensatory time off. Also the police would pay b~.ck the ~xtr~. overtime p~.y for Aug. and Sept. which would amount to 22¢ an hour. After much discussion motion w~.s made by Parker and seconded b~ Ki1.p,atri~k to approved ~h~: committees propc?~al. After more discussion, Kilpatrick wished to amend the motion to read that thc~ Police be pa3.d one days pay if holid~.y fa11s on his day ofd' and if he works that day Y16 ~@~',S al. Rodgers reported that the windows in the Fire Ha11 wire D.K. Rodgers presented the Committees report on the san3.~ary lanc3~'i11 and sugg~~ted that special. meting be called to diseu~s this matter. Special meeting ~a11ed for A~ionday Dec. 27th at 7.00 o~elock P.M. i Rehm reported on some snow drifts on 3rd avg. and requested that some snow removed from the downtown streets be put in the vacant lot at St. Anthony Fari~h.
