Minutes of the City Council of Laurel
December 6~ 1971
A regular meting of the City Co~neil of the City of Laur~1, Mon~ana~ was held in the Council Chambers and was called to order by Mayor L.

Minutes of the previous regular meeting of Nov~:mber lath were r~~d. Mot3.on was ~
made by EbersvilJ,er and Seconded by Burns ghat the minutes be approved a~
~ read. Motion carried.
Minutes of the previous special meeting of November 29th were read.
Motion w~.~ ~ad~ by Parker and seconded by Kilpatrick that the minutes be approved a~ read. Motion carried.
Letter was read from D~.in, Kalman & Quail comm~nd~.n~ the Cit~r o~
I,aur~l on the results of the water audit.
City C1e~k reported ghat the $1.00 r~aa.s~ in water rates rEquested of the Public S~rv3.e~ Commission in July, and authorized by this Conuni~~ion in
August, but not tca tike effect until December 1, 1971, had been okayed by the
~i Chairman of the Commission by phone.
The report of the Police Judge and the. r~port~ of 1~ patro~ien were ~
I~ presented for approval. Mot3.on was made by Rodgers and $ecand~d by Behm that I these r~port~ be approved. Mot3.on carried.

ba allowed. .After discussion on the Garbage claims and the Police claims, ~'I

j Parker reported that it way the recommendation of the: Ambu].ar~ce ~omm-
ittee that the Ambulance be tak en o c ut of service first of the year until i ~ s~v~ral problems are worked ou-~. He also reported that there would be a meeting
of the Ambulance Committee on Thursday, December 9, 1971, in the council chambers
i at 7:00 F.I. He strongly urged the entire council to attend, and sta~~d that

City Council should strongly support the Ambulance Committee in their community

I ~ The A2ayar thanked the off3.~e force for its comprehensive report on the
e~end3.ture~ and receipt$ on the garbage Finds for the 3affit 7 years. Aldermain
Parker also eommend~d the persons or person responsible for this inforrnat~on.
The Mayor also reported that he had t~7.k~d to Mr. Cart~rright of the ~I Northern Tank Ling, to inquiry as to the cost of the man and equipment ~.o~.ned to
~i the City at the time of the last fire at the Sanitary Landfill. He stated that
there would b~ no charge for this ser~rice, and ordered a letter of ~ppreci~tion
and thank-you to Mr. Cartwright and the PTorth~rn Tank.
