K.._ I Minutes of the City Council of Laurel December 27, 2971 A Speci~,1. meeting of the City Council of the City of Laurels Montana, was held in the cotaneil chambers end was called to order by Mayor L. P9. Yovetich, at 7:0~ o~clock~ P.NT., on Mondays December 27, 1g71. Upon taking roll ca11, the followa.n~ aldermen an~wer~d pre~~nts Tom Herd Jackson Parker Thomas Kilpatrick E. H. Ebersviller, Sr. Chuck Roci~er~ This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the landfill and garbage situation. A committee report concerning this matter was presented as follow : This report is for council discussion and study ~o committee m~ finalize and act on by January 1, 1972, with council approval or spec~~l meeting. 1. Landfill open Monday thru S~.turday Hours 10:0 to 6:00 P.M. 2. Permanent Man on .Duty. Committee recommends Lee Phillips, who is employed by the City under the Emergency Employment Act. This man I to work Tuesday through Saturdsy !~0 hours with one of the following to fi11 in on P9vnday, Heg~1, Fort, Watson, or Riesin~er. Lee Phillips and one of the other to be bonded in order to make ~ collections at the dump. There ~ril1 probably be a bonding charge in 1970 of ~1~.00 per man. At this time they are covered under a blanket form. These men to be in full charge of landfill and to h~v~ the authority (w~.th council appro~~l and backing) to re~eet or sigi~ a complaint against anyone who does not comply with the rules of dumping . They shall inform public where to dump or separate their loads. 3. Dumping permit to b~ issued at City Hall or Dump if individual wishes. l~. Rate X1,00 minimum fee from a singly; container to a pickup load. ~S2.OD for a pickup with side boards. !i $3.~~ for one ton truek~. ~Z.00 for l~ ton and 2 ton trucks $7.0~ for ~e~r~i-trailers and pack~:rs. Residents to comply w3.th above rate. Residents may contain, box or bundle trash or other refu.~e in lengthy of no more thaM 3 feed fog regular pickup servicse. ~ 6. City should go back to ~ spring and fall clean-up instead of once month. . I Dump to be locked after hour. 8. signs posted outside of gate. Littering $25n.fl0 fine Signs inside and outside No shooting. 9. Salvage may be permitted on dad-out basis No piling over 2}~ hours. Individu~.l.s wanting to s~.lvage Should p~.y $1.~0 minimum, $3.00 for a load. Salv~.g~ done under the super~rision of the man on duly as long as it does not interfere with landfill operations. There being no further business to come before the council at this time, motion. was duly made and seconded that the meeting be adjourned.
